Seoul: Between Millennia-Old Traditions and Futuristic Energy
Traveling to Seoul is a bit like stepping into a time machine with a minor technical glitch but in the best possible way. You can go from a peaceful Buddhist temple to a dizzying skyscraper simply by crossing the street. My time in the South Korean capital was a constant sensory experience an immersion into a culture where courtesy reigns supreme and modernity seems to know no bounds.
I created four paintings there: a reinterpretation of Darth Vader as a samurai, echoing current cinematic trends. I had the honor of collaborating on this piece with the talented local artist JODAE. My journey continued near Sinchon University, where I painted two new works: a portrait of Lady P. and a traditional Maneki-neko. Finally, I wrapped up the series with a mural of a cat in the Yeongdeungpo district.
